Use AI-assisted grading

AI-assisted grading can help analyze answers and suggest grading elements when the feature is enabled.

It does not replace teacher judgment.

General principle

AI can support:

  • identifying expected elements in an answer;
  • proposing feedback;
  • speeding up a first review;
  • helping align some criteria.

The teacher must always validate the result before confirming a grade.

Prepare for AI-assisted grading

For more useful assistance:

  • write a clear question;
  • add an expected answer or criteria;
  • define the point value;
  • avoid contradictory instructions.

Validate before publication

Before publishing a grade or comment:

  • read the student's answer;
  • compare it with the criteria;
  • adjust points if necessary;
  • remove or rewrite inappropriate feedback.

Limits

AI assistance may be less reliable if:

  • instructions are ambiguous;
  • no expected answer is provided;
  • the answer uses images or files that are difficult to interpret;
  • the question requires highly contextual judgment.
